In all honesty, if you're looking for unpredictability, refer to the older games. ![]() So having a HP bar or not doesn't really mean much, and having it just allows you learn a bit more about the monsters behavior at different HP levels etc. On the other hand if you're already familiar with the monster, especially if you're a veteran that's played waaay too much MH, you can get a good feel of when a monsters done. Honestly, not every player enjoys hunting the same way so having a HP bar might mean nothing to them. If your hunts are typically longer, not knowing whether the monster is close to death or still kickin' can be quite exciting. It really only ruins the experience with first encounters or if you're not familiar with the monster yet.
